These two do-gooders definitely pulled off two awesome heists in a single day. Who would have thought we’d convince these two, who both work at banks, to rob one? and ambush an armored car? Well, it was all in the name of fun. Booyahhh!

Peter + Emily | Cebu E-session

Ever watched those silly movies on TV where the nerd guy gets the hot girl at the end and they live happily ever after? You could almost swear to yourself that it never really happens much in real life. Well, Peter and Emily are the perfect example of real-life relationships playing out like it is in the movies. If you take one look at Emily, you’d probably peg her as one that would never go for someone like Peter. But catch these two together and you’d be showered with reasons that break all the stereotypes you have on a partnership like theirs.

Channeling Vogue magazine, we fused drama and style onto the concept of this engagement session. You would think that that would be difficult considering we’re not working with professional models for the shoot, but Peter and Emily brought on their A-game and exceeded all our expectations with every direction we gave them. These guys are naturals! This was one of those days when an e-session shoot came together so perfectly. Two locations (one relevant to the groom-to-be, the other relevant to the bride-to-be) and several dresses later, add to the mix the magic of Wenwen Zaspa’s make-up artistry, and we had ourselves a brilliant collection of photos just begging to grace the pages of the world’s top fashion magazines. Okay, we’re exaggerating a bit. But lookie here, aren’t they just to-die-for? Peter and Emily, you guys make us blush.

We *Heart* Weddings

WE heart weddings. We wouldn’t have quit our day jobs to be doing what we’re currently doing if we didn’t love it. Jeff and I would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to Wedding Essentials magazine for recognizing our hard work and passion in wedding photography as it grew to unexpected levels over the past year or so.

If you grab a copy of Wedding Essentials: Beautiful Weddings 2010-2011, you’ll get to read the story of one our most memorable couples from last year. Siu and Natalie flew to Cebu all the way from the U.K. and Australia, respectively, just to say their I do’s in front of an intimately-gathered crowd of their close friends and families amidst the lush backdrop of sun, sand, sea and sky . Read up as Natalie shares how it all lead up from a witty exchange at a comedy show to that pivotal moment of vowing lifelong commitment to each other at Shangri-la Mactan.

Also out now is Wedding Essentials the Jan.-June 2011 issue where we are featured as a discovery. Big thank you to Marbee Shing Go, Kitten Zapata, Maureen Belmonte, Carlo Francia, Crae Achacoso, and the rest of the WE gang for the two-page spread.  Y’all are so nice to us and we are honored and humbled by your awesome team. Quick shoutout to RPS member Lorel who also appears on the photo for the spread. Thank you Wedding Essentials!!!

Some things to look forward to… 2011 is shaping up to be one hell of a breathtaking thrill ride for the Rock Paper Scissors team. We’re going island hopping… Manila, Camiguin, Davao, Cagayan, Bohol, Tagaytay, Boracay, etc.  Watch out for our upcoming post on how we conquered Ilocos! Also, Hong Kong and Singapore are on the list yet again. Plus, later this year, we are crossing the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. As to what that’s about, we can’t really reveal much right now.  We are forever grateful for God’s blessings.

Adrian + Pansy | Aqua Luna & Hotel Nikko Hong Kong Destination Wedding

We find it a little funny that our second ever destination (out-of-Cebu) wedding is one that would take us out of the country and into the bustling urban jungle of Hong Kong.  Of course, we can’t complain.

After getting drenched in the rain for Adrian and Pansy’s prenup photoshoot (shot during a signal #3 tropical cyclone), and right before diving into their high-octane wedding day, we were able to sneak in a few hours of “us” time.  Those “us” times have been both good and bad.  The good part is that Jeff was in shopping heaven, dropping by the H&M’s, the Cotton On’s and the Zara’s of the city, and there won’t be a need to do some Christmas shopping anymore. The bad thing about it is our maxed out credit cards. Yikes! But enough about that.

Adrian and Pansy are such a gorgeous couple!  Not only are they stunning, but these spunky Aussies are both goofballs!  It was a breeze getting “happy” shots of the both of them all throughout their wedding day. We can still recall the frantic preparations that morning at the hotel as everyone in the entourage did every little bit they could to help out. It felt like everyone had three cups of coffee each. Endorphins on abundant supply. Haha!

It was a breath of fresh air for us having the wedding ceremony on board Aqua Luna. In complete contrast to the setting, the stereo speakers were blasting out current pop and r&b songs. The couple and the wedding entourage looked like they were having the time of their lives swaying to the music and singing along to songs from Usher, the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Uncle Kracker, and many more. Plus, I think everyone would agree that probably nobody was more nervous that day than……. *surprise*… the pastor, as he declared “kiss the bride” before Pansy could give Adrian his wedding ring. Bloopers aside, it was a lovely day overall.

Special thanks to Edward Gonzaga for recommending us and for taking care of us and our stomachs that day.  To Mr. Adrian Eastman and Mrs. Pansy Leung-Eastman, may you both have bliss for the rest of your lives together.  Don’t you both lose your wild streaks.

RR + Jackie | Madre de Dios Tagaytay Highlands Destination Wedding

How excited were we when Jackie confirmed to us earlier this year that they’ve picked us to be their official photographer for the AL+AR wedding in Tagaytay? We were ecstatic!!! Our very first Tagaytay wedding. Back then, October couldn’t have come any sooner. And then it did.

We know how hard RR and Jackie worked to make their Tagaytay wedding as close to perfect as possible. From picking out the venues, doing the decorations, and right down to designing their own invitations. The invitation card deserves special mention because not only was it the couple’s design, but it was so unique and fun. You’ll see it in the photoclip. It transforms into a box! Needless to say, we were impressed.

Tagaytay really has a magical charm. We’d even go as far as saying that by having your destination wedding here, you are pretty much already halfway guaranteed of a romantic atmosphere for THE day.

Big thank you to RR and Jackie/Kilo for having faith in our abilities and for taking really good care of us during our stint in Tagaytay. Also, big shoutout to Emex and Janet for driving us around and being the entertainment showcase haha!

Nobs + Tots | Bohol Beach Club Destination Wedding

The entire Rock Paper Scissors team was in Bohol last August for Novis Lagunay and Ethel Blanco’s beach destination wedding in Bohol Beach Club. It now holds the special distinction in our photowall of fame as our very first official destination wedding. Yay!

Nobs and Tots are quite laid back as a couple. Bohol Beach Club, as a setting for them promising their lifelong commitment to one another, was the perfect backdrop amidst a sea of close friends and family who shed tears of joy when Nobs and Tots made their vows that fateful Saturday afternoon. The music as the bride marched towards the altar, the sunset against an orange and blue sky, the cool tropical breeze of Bohol, everyone’s emotions in high gear. Everything just fell into place that day and it was beautiful.

Dexter + Beverly | Iloilo and Boracay Engagement Session

As previously mentioned (here), not only were we ecstatic to have met Dexter and Beverly but you could almost say that it was sweet serendipity at work. For weeks now we’ve had the wonderful opportunity of traveling to a lot of places around the world the country and we are endlessly grateful to have been graced with a bunch of warm and good-hearted clients.  We owe a huge part of it to this wonderful couple for setting off a good amount of out-of-town bookings for us when they became the first ones to take us outside of Cebu and on to Boracay and Iloilo (Dexter’s hometown) earlier this year for their engagement (prenup) session.

Boracay, commercial as it may have become as of late, has still got to be one of the more romantic destinations in the country.  There’s something about its white powdery sands, the clear turquoise water, and the perfect view of its orange sunset that makes it irresistibly charming.  All of these characteristics made for the perfect setting for the concept we had in mind for this e-session.

Concept + Location + Dexter + Beverly + Rock Paper Scissors = One HAPPY engagement session!

Get Set, Singapore!

Three misfits from the cute little island of Cebu will be set loose in the merlion city of Singapore on November 3 to 7, 2010.  Count them, one two three:  a big guy who is addicted to shopping, a movie freak who doesn’t eat meat, and a hobbit who refuses to let go of his backpack.  All three will be armed with cameras, aiming to shoot couples in love and other beautiful people in this awesome city.

All those who want to be shot must reserve slots in order to be accommodated in their tightly-scheduled brief stint.  Be prepared to look hot, bring on your A-game, and get set to do some out-of-this-world stunts.  Word of caution:  this is not for the faint of heart. These guys are crazy!
