David and Ruby are both from Hong Kong. This spontaneous couple contacted us for a pre-wedding pictorial in Cebu. We remembered when we were shooting Adrian and Pansy’s e-session in Hong Kong some months back, Pansy mentioned that in Hong Kong, it is perfectly normal for women to wear a wedding dress for their engagement session photos.

Fusing the two worlds together, we thought it would great to shoot Ruby in her wedding dress in the most Cebuano of all churches, and also one of the most historic in the country. Taking it a step further, we documented them exploring the streets of Colon, the oldest in the Philippines. Add in some time inside the very Filipino and very antique home of Val San Diego, then you’ve got quite the odd pairing. Dare we say culture clash? Not necessarily.
