The nice thing about civil weddings is that: it’s simple, no fuss, very straightforward. Ian and Nina’s civil wedding was held at the beautiful garden of Chateau de Busay overlooking metropolitan Cebu.
Ian and Nina were all smiles (big smiles) all throughout the day. We guess they’re just very excited that they’ll be finally tying-the-knot after a 2-year long distance relationship. We’re also glad that the heavens answered their prayers to not rain on their big day. The union was very quick and was capped by releasing dozens of white and blue balloons during sunset.

Ever since the couple Lex Andre Acibar and Katrina Alana Yu booked us last February as their photographer on their wedding, we’ve been very excited to do this since it’s exactly one year after our first paid wedding gig. Yipppeee! Happy Anniversary Rock Paper Scissors!
We want to thank God first and foremost for giving us an awesome opportunity in life to wake up everyday doing what we love to do. Thank you to our friends who gave us encouragement and support, to the people who believed in our outlandish visions and crazy ideas, and to all our new friends who took the big leap of faith in entrusting us with the honor of capturing life’s little big things for them.
Here’s to many more years of being RockPaperScissorized! Cheers and enjoy Goodie and Kathy’s wedding photos! We’re really lovin’ their color motif: Mustard Yellow and Navy Blue! If you missed their gravity defying e-session, you can check them out here: Goodie + Kathy | Cebu Prenup

I know how excited you are to see the rustic chic vintage wedding of Brian Minerva and Josephine Sicad-Minerva. But we will have to keep you in suspense a little longer! For the meantime, let’s have a look at their engagement session that we shot just a few hours before the wedding.
Franz Arrogante wanted to do a few layouts to be used on their onsite wedding video. We thought we could also get some good portrait shots of the couple while they’re at it. Indeed, it turned out to be a great set! I just love how natural they are in front of the camera. You can really see and feel the love they have for each other weeehhh! Wedding pictures coming soooonnn!

Shine and Josh are planning to get married in Japan. Since they can’t bring all their relatives and friends, they decided to throw an engagement party here in Cebu and have their e-session done the following day. The plan was just to shoot at the rooftop in the hotel the couple was staying. When we saw Josh inside the hotel room smoking, we can’t help but insist that the shoot be continued in the room. Josh in his American Air Force uniform and Shine in her sexy black outfit looks like one of those made-for-tv movies.
Josh and Shine are such nice people. We had a fun time shooting their engagement party and the e-session except that there was a slight problem with the couple and the hotel. But that’s another story =)
To Josh and Shine: we are crossing our fingers for the Japan wedding! *wink* *wink* Enjoy the slightly edgier-than-usual photos!

Christopher Nolan’s latest film Inception is mind-blowing and kick-ass! Exactly the same as Goodie and Kathy’s pre-wedding session in Cebu. We are quite happy with how this one turned out considering we had to come up with a totally different concept for them at the very last minute and at our busiest month so far!
The original concept that the couple wanted was kinda difficult to achieve location- and props-wise. Although it would have been pretty amazing if we’ve done that. For Goodie and Kathy’s e-session, we wanted to defy gravity. It’s 90 degrees angle for the couple including the furniture and props. It’s crazy, fun, yet challenging! One of us stood in the middle of the street; brownout to the max; just praying for dear life that no vehicle would hit him just to get some good shots! We finished the shoot at 8pm.

Client: Mark Steven Ong + Marie Krystel Young
Location: Fully Booked Ayala Terraces Cebu
Hair & make-up: Jessie Glova
We’ve known Krystel for quite some time now. When we found out that she was getting married, we were thrilled! For her and Mark’s engagement shoot we first went to FullyBooked as both of them are book lovers.
We had a wonderful Japanese lunch at Ginza and continued our shoot there and at the adjacent Kumon center.
It was an all-indoor shoot…which is unusual for us since we usually take our clients outdoor to the open fields. Haha! But RPS embraces every challenge with open arms, hence we took on this one. =)
P.S. Krystel is a dead ringer for Bea Alonzo, no?

This has got to be the most effortless prenup session in Cebu we have done to date! hehehe. The couple brought everything that we planned for the shoot (from the outfits, accessories, props, and even down to the exact shoe color that we wanted! Just great! hehehe).
There were even other things (read: buffet lunch and overflowing snacks! waaahhh!) that we don’t necessarily require but we were provided with, so we definitely didn’t mind having those!
More info on the shoot when we do the full post. Enjoy the preview guys!

Eric and Cha were so comfortable to work with. It was so easy for us to put everything together because they already had some stuff in mind that they wanted for their pre-wedding shoot yet they let us meet them halfway to inject something of ours for a more adventurous take on their ideas. The karate was inspired by Eric and the hippie concept by Cha. They were all-smiles all throughout the day of the shoot, no attitude problems, no fuss. They let us drive their car, too! To Danao, mind you! Haha! When people trust us like that it is so heartwarming and encouraging. It’s a good reminder that we are doing something right and that we have gained new friends because of the passion we have for what we do. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Alo! Love has opened the door for the both of you indeed.
